Trichy Tamil Nadu –

The Forest Department, Government of Tamil Nadu entrusted SunGreen ventilation Systems with the ventilation of the indoor butterfly conservatory. Shaped to resemble a butterfly, the metal structure with a polycarbonate roof was designed for optimal growth of the plants necessary for the butterflies. The polycarbonate sheet presented a problem – the heat load was immense. The SunGreen team analysed the various landscaping, comfort conditions for the butterflies as well as the visitors and the building design to come up with an optimum solution. These included

Heat from the roofing sheet.

A well planned exhaust system including welded mesh sidewalls that allowed free passage of air.

SunGreen Precise Evaporative Coolers supplied air at a lower temperature than ambient. They were placed in a such a way that each cooling unit addressed the needs of a particular location.

The SunGreen PEC’s were custom built using robust Stainless Steel construction to ensure longevity. They were also competitively priced compared to plastic versions.

The airflow dispersion was optimised to a T, using TurboaSox Fabric Air Ducts. Apart from aesthetic reasons, TurboaSox also ensures lowest turbulence, perfect for the ultimate residents of the enclosure – The butterflies.

A few TurboVent – wind driven ventilators were also added to optimise the air flow and ensure higher efficiency.
